This week, Emory's Goizueta Business School will make history on one of the world's biggest stages. On Wednesday, September 2, at 4:00 p.m. EDT, the Goizueta Business School will remotely ring the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
This will be the first time the Exchange bell has ever been rung from a college or university campus or even within the state of Georgia.
The Goizueta bell-ringing takes place in tandem with an intriguing panel discussion featuring some of the country's most important business and political leaders. " Where Do We Go From Here? Leaders Discuss Lessons of the Global Financial Crisis and the Road Ahead," includes Goizueta alumnus and NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan Niederauer 85MBA, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Atlanta Federal Reserve President Dennis Lockhart, AFLAC CEO Daniel Amos, and Home Depot CEO Frank Blake. It will be moderated by CNN's Susan Lisovicz and carried live on the websites of both NYSE Euronext and CNN, as well as our own Goizueta site.
More than 100 million people worldwide will watch Emory ring the closing bell from Atlanta on Wednesday. Make sure you're among them by watching live on television (CNBC or Bloomberg), or streamed live on the website of NYSE Euronext (
www.nyse.com).
